Just to clarify about the gedcoms and World Connect. It would not be
because the pages are created by gedcoms that causes them not to be picked
up by search engines. When the gedcoms are imported into WC they are
imported into a database. That's exactly what TNG software and other
family-tree type sites would do. Most Web sites now are created using
databases and php coding to generate pages "on the fly." And search engines
crawl databases all the time.
Gedcoms are merely the transmission of information from one database to
another.
Since many many sites using databases have content which is picked up by
search engines, it must be that they have restricted that from their end.
I may have misinterpreted the point of what was being said, but I thought
I'd clarify in case I did understand correctly.
