Christy, I would like to second your thoughts on the effect of reading
history has on me. One of my biggest (I mean huge) problems is
getting sidetracked when doing research - I find an interesting tidbit
of information which has nothing to do with what I am researching at
the moment and I MUST KNOW MORE! This is why my files are in such
disarray and I can not find my research materials - they are smothered
in papers about other research projects started on the spur of the
moment. However this is THE YEAR i will get organized and
productive. This is a new version of publish or perish - not to save
the academic job i do not have (yet) but just because I feel that it I
do not research and write something I will perish.
Tonight was the last class of my last class at DePaul U, I came home
with tears in my eyes I did not want to let go of all those loverly
learning experiences. So I am starting not one but 2 programs - Pro
Gen. 9 and a Masters in Military History.I will keep learning until
the day they put me in a box. In fact I want to be buried with a few
books - titles to be determined later! LOL

Distilling historical events right down to the individual level.
Thanks for the listen!
