ProGen is both a book, as Elissa describes, and an online study group.
Information on the study group can be found at http://progenstudy.org/. I
have read most of the book and am also a member of one of the study groups.
IMHO, while I think the book leans heavily toward US, most of its concepts
are either usable as is or adaptable; for example, how to write a research
plan, ways to acquire knowledge and skills and how to write a business plan.
This is the only reference I have found that really focuses on genealogy as
a business.
