Just a thought. When I first view the census image, I thought that the
enumerator's "y" had lost its tail: McCleary. Ancestry's index is
"McClara."
There is an 1860 Patrick McCalleer (Ancestry's index) in Philadelphia,
right age, right birth place, with the occupation of "lab man." Another
person on the page works in a foundry.
