Good point Elissa about WordPress - more and more people are using it as a
Content Management System and for websites due to its "ease of use" - my
site High-Definition Genealogy (http://www.hidefgen.com) looks like a
website but uses the Wordpress platform traditionally seen as a blog
platform.

I recently set up a new website. The domain name GRIPitt.org was registered
through GoDaddy.com. It is hosted through BlueHost.com and I used WordPress
to create the website. WordPress not only allows me to fully control the
website but I can do it from anywhere I have internet access. It also has
blog capability and was fairly easy to learn. I can change things quickly
and post updates and information in the blog section. There are books on
WordPress but what you see is what I was able to figure out intuitively by
playing with it.
My business website, PowellGenealogy.com, was created using NetObjects
Fusion, version 10. It is a program that resides on my computer so that I am
the only one who can change it and it has the inherent liabilities of
anything that resides on a computer, so backups are a must.
I have been pleased with both ways of approaching websites because of their
individual purposes.
