Subject: Re: [TRIER-ROOTS-L] Evangelisch, Petershagen Minden, Westfalen, Preussen

Cindy and all,
To interpret this phrase correctly, Evangelisch refers to the religion
(Evangelical/Lutheran.) There are two towns mentioned, Petershagen and
Minden, but they are two separate places. Your Petershagen is located north
of Minden but it was in the kreis (county) of Minden. This area is generally
west of the city of Hannover. The correct reference then is: the
Evangelical parish for the town of Petershagen, located in Kreis Minden,
province Westfalen (Westphalia) in the kingdom of Preussen (Prussia),
Germany.
LDS has both Evangelical and Catholic church records for Petershagen, Kreis
Minden, I believe.
