Subject: [TRIER-ROOTS-L] LORENS - NEISES Marriage in Meckel
Date: Sun, 11 Feb 2001 14:41:17 -0600
Is there anyone on the List researching the surname Lorens or Neises?
On December 4, 1780, Dominic Neises, a widower from Domo Prumers of Meckel married Eva Lorens, daughter of Christopher and Anna Maria Lorens of Sulm. Peter Goebel, pastor of Mte St. Helena of Meckel officiated.
On October 22, 1781, Mathias Neises, son of Dominic Neises of Domo Prumers of Meckel married Magdalena Lorens daughter of widower Christopher Lorens of Sulm. Once again Peter Goebel, pastor of Mte. St. Helena of Meckel officiated.
I'm trying to locate the identity of Dominic's parents. Since he was a widower they were not listed on the marriage record and I have been unable to find any record of his first marriage or of his baptism. Evidently Mathias was from Dominic's first marriage - imagine that, he was marrying his step-mother's sister, his "step-aunt". I would appreciate hearing from anyone that may have additional information regarding Dominic Neises. I have the records of the children from both of these marriages.
