Marty, for your ROSSMANNs, there are other possibilities of their origin.
They may descend from Philip ROSSMAN/ROSMANN, b: abt 1599 in Wenigsbach,
Switzerland.

Rather than give you a couple of centuries of genealogy here, this is the
short version. Philip married, abt 1620, in Neuenkirchen, Hessen, Germany and
in about 1680 his descendants were living in Lutzelbach, Hessen, Germany. By
1835 other descendants were living in the Bliesgau area, in and around
Gersheim which is today in the southern Saarland a few km from the Border
with France.
