Subject: [TRIER-ROOTS-L] ?? Sending money to Germany

Hi,
I found an Archive in Witten (Detmold) area that has family information
for me. They want me to send DM 70,60, for the fee. I have been to the
bank and cannot find out how I should send this. Here is what the message
says: "For you inquiry you have to pay a fee of DM 70,60. Upon your
transfer form"...(I suppose this the check), "don't forget the following
details:Name of the Bank: Sparkasse Detmold."
"BLZ (national bank code):" (then it gives a long number), "Number of
account:" then it gives that number. "account holder: Regierungshauptkasse
Detmold. Reference number:" (...........) " TV-Nr." (then another long
number) "(that's an internal code, no translation possible, but it is
important")
Then it says: "Please, inform us of your postal address."
What I can not find out is, if I make the check out to this
bank..."Sparkasse Detmold",
or would I make the check to the man at the archives? Then where would I
put all these other account numbers etc.
As you can tell I have never done this before and the bank called their
Main bank in St. Louis, Mo. and they couldn't tell us what to do.
ALSO...is the following part of the address, that I would mail my check
to: Mit freundlichen GruBen... the "u" has 2 dots over it.
Thank you for helping out an amateur!!!!!
