Hei Linda,
I guess we should never assume but in this case I will assume that we shall
end up with a similar site as the last one in structure. When you say
guidelines I guess that is the same as the newbie notes of the last one. I
think it is a good idea that you are using different names as this will stop
any flack from, shall we say, the other one. I have a couple of suggestions.
One is that quiet a few new listers never read the newbie notes, probably
because they were too exited and wanted to see what was going on straight
away or maybe they thought they knew already what was needed to know. Humans
are a bit funny that way. Perhaps when the welcome letter is sent to the new
listers the guide lines are sent at the same time so that there is more
chance of them reading them. They of course cannot be too long as this will
possibly cause people to not bother to read them. If they are perhaps put
into point form from say 1 - 10 of this is what you do if....... with links
to the explaination on how to.......... . It should also be suggested that
they keep this letter on their hard disk drive for reference or even print it
out so that they will always have it as a reference guide.
One point I noticed come up time and time again was how to get the Norwegian
letters . It wouldn't hurt to have this as one of the guidelines.
I do agree with what Karla has done about the photos of the listers. Perhaps
we can do something similar People do like to see to whom they are talking.
If you need any help with anything I am at your disposal. Perhaps our other
members would like to add to this or suggest something different to help the
course.
Sorry for rambling on so much. The above of course is only a suggestion.
Hilsen,
Odd-Steinar
