I have a few problems understanding the meanings of certain words or abbreviations concerning ancestors whose emigration I found in the Digitalarkivet (Again my thanks to those who told me how to use it).

1) In one listing I found "Residence" shown as "Amerika" and then under "Remarks" I found "Amk." What does Amk. signify?
2) In two other another listings for the same Individual I found his occupation givern once as "jernb.arb" and elsewhere as "Jernbanemand". He did work for the railroad and I assume "jernb.arb" means jernbane arbeiter or railroad worker. But what is a "Jernbanemand"?
3) Under "Aim" in another listing "Retur" is shown. Does this mean returning to his American residence?
4) One ancestor's "family position" is stated to be "hustru" presumably housewife, her occupation to be "snekkers" while under remarks there is the notation "Amk. borger" (presumably American Resident). My Norwegian-English dictionary translates "Snekker" without the final s as a "Cabinet Maker", surely an unusual occupation for a woman and not as far as I am aware the occupation of her husband. Can anyone explain?
5) Another notation under "Aim" for someone who is a "Amk.borger" and who was departing "04.12.1919" is "Retur av 4/8.19" Does this mean he retuned to Norway on August 4, 1919, and is now going back to America on December 4, 1919?
