Hi Mary,

With the information I found in the 1910 census, I was able to make a
better search of the emigration lists .... I believe your family emigrated
in 1887 from Trondheim as shown below. It's not clear where they were
headed to, other than Quebec. Their passage was paid by someone in America
... a relative? They departed Trondheim on June 29, 1887 (not 1879 as you
thought). Son Haakon was 5 years old.

You can see this yourself at this link:

Unfortunately the 1875 Norwegian census is not completely online yet, but I
may have found Henrik Aune, b. 1850 in the 1865 census:
http://www.rhd.uit.no/folketellinger/ftliste_e.aspx?ft=1865&knr=1612&kenr=007&bnr=0057&lnr=000

His name here is Henrik Olsen, b. 1850 in Hevne parish. He is a servant on
the Aunet farm in Hemne. Hemne is in Sor-Trondelag. Here's a map to show
you where it is:
http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~schwartz/SorTrondelag/map-s.htm

Does anyone on Tronder list have bygdebok for Hemne?

Hilsen fra Linda
