I certainly hope I wasn't the start of the Andrew Jackson thing...but I
apologize if I was. When I joined this list I thought it was for all mixed
bloods even whites, but maybe I over stepped my bounds. I just wanted to
find out where to get the rooster for who fought with Jackson in the Creek
Wars about 1812-1817, I certainly wasn't waiving his flag or jumping on
board a ship full of Jackson lovers....personally I've just started trying
to track my native American side. I too am proud of all my heritage and so
far all I've found for sure is that the only people who turned down my Snow
ancestors was the Cherokee's for lack of what they wanted for proof even
when he had a native American lawyer....but that didn't stop me because I've
got so many avenues that lead to the Cherokee people. My
great-great-grandmother was in Texas when they gave out land to the Cherokee
in Oklahoma and she wouldn't go and accept it because she said, "No they are
bushwhackers over there and I don't want no part of them" The land did stay
in the family until it was sold by one of her granddaughters many years
later.....I haven't been able to track the exact parcel. I have such
respect for all people and I'm so eager to learn more about my Indian
heritage and was thrilled to find so much information and helpful sites
given by Turtle....so to Turtle and the rest of this list again I'm sorry if
I did something wrong with asking about Jackson but I didn't know our
subjects were selective.
