1996 gold
At the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, Scott Tucker was part of Americas gold medal-
winning 4x100-meter freestyle relay team, for whom he swam during first-round
competition. In 1998, Tucker and his U.S. counterparts won a world title in the

4x100 free, which he says was the best moment of his swimming career.
At the 2000 Olympic Trials, Tucker finished third in the 100-meter free and
earned
a ticket to Sydney as part of the 4x100m free relay. The U.S. has never lost
the
mens 4x100 free relay at the Olympics.

Constricting behavior
Before the 1996 Olympic Trials, Tucker spontaneously bought a boa
constrictor.
The snake, named Killian, lived in his dorm room at Auburn for a period of
time,
but he gave it up a year before moving in with his girlfriend, Courtney Carson,
a
former Auburn teammate. The 6-foot-long boa had grown aggressive and Tucker
says it expected to be fed every time its cage opened.
