I just posted a long group of references to wills in SC, Spartenburg Co.,
and also some marriage records of Turners in Ala., with my Turners going on
over to Yell Co., Ark.
In doing this I noticed several things...the Turners named some of their
children after PLACES, and after families they were either intermarried
with, or were friends and traveled together with.
Your first child, Boswell LAFAYETTE, was born in Lafayette Co., Ark.
Greene Co., Ala. is adjoining Tuscaloosa Co., Ala. where OUR Turners were
from. Ours came to Ark. and so did yours, although yours went South. There
are Martin Families in Dry Fork, Yell Co., Ark. intermarried with the
Nooner families, where three Turners also intermarried with 3 of the Nooner
children.
William and Rebecca Turner were names among those on the other post. John
and Rebecca were the first ones we could find on the Wills of Spartenburg,
SC. John was deceased and Rebecca was his widow.
The Turners in our group named their children after family members,
including themselves. (family tradition)
Someone sent me this info. the other day. Elihu Turner married DICY
Richardson in Campbell Co., Tenn. 10 Mar. 1848. Someone else told me that
DICY stood for Eudice (or something close to it...I can't put my hand on
it.)
Let me know what you think...Do you think your family fits with ours? They
WERE in close proximity in abt. the same years.
