Re David Costner's post to this list, I see that others are searching for
Jesse and John Turner and searching in GA, also.

The Rebecca Turner (m. Jonas/John Bird) was listed in Pioneers of Wiregrass GA
as being "of" Jefferson Co., GA, the daughter of John Turner, although I've
found no record of any Turner family in that county circa 1790. Rebecca
Turner and Jonas Bird were married c 1815, and lived in Emanuel, Telfair,
Clinch Co.'s GA -- but I don't think they physically moved -- I think the
counties were just reapportioned.

Interest to note are the common first names -- also given to Jonas & Rebecca's
children: Jesse, Winnifred, and others.......surely there must be a
connection here someplace.

Can anyone shed any light on this??
