I tried to send this message yesterday but don't think it went through. I
am trying a new address. If I am doing this wrong and someone sees it,
please tell me how to get posted on general list for others to read.

I am making a trip very soon to look for Turners to try to find missing
links in my own line from Jesse Turner, first found in GA in 1815 in
Bulloch Co working for Abisha Turner, who I suspect is his cousin. Jesse
goes to Appling County and ends up in Hamilton Co, Fl where he dies in 1850
prior to Census. HIs children are Daughters: Elizabeth (Hurst), Luhenthia
(Garratt), Nancy (Davis), Susan (Hughey), Mary, Winnford (Smith) and Celia
(Stafford). Sons: James R., twin John, William (Bill), Jesse R., Elisha,
Benjamin, Ickabod, and David.

The children of Abisha are Benjamin, Isaac, Thomas, James, and John and
daughters Martha (Cook) and Mary (Atwood)). Abisha is mentioned in his
father's will - Thomas Turner in Bertie Co, 1776 names his children -
David, Benajah, Thomas, Amos, Abisha, and Hannah (Clark) and Mary
(Thompson). Thomas is married to Mary Hicks, daughter of David Hicks.
They are all first found in Isle of Wight, VA.

Also found on Isle of Wight, Va is a James Turner and his wife Ann. They
sell their land on the same day as Thomas and Mary and to the same person.
Both are recorded in Bertie Co, NC. where other Turners appear also.

I plan to travel to select counties in GA, Bertie Co, NC and to Isle of
Wight, VA. Anyone else out there who thinks they have a connection to this
family? Look at the names of the children. Winnfred seems to be the most
common name for women that is unusual.

I found record that a Winnifred Turner married a James Campbell and a John
Hodges in Old Averasboro, NC. Winnifred was born in 1783 the daughter of
James Turner, born Dec. 7, 1750 and died in 1804 and was married to Sarah
Hunter, died 1815. Where is Old Averasboro, NC???

Please respond if you think you may have a connection. .
