Hello, all !! For the roll call.....all I have on her is birthstate (VA)
from a census, her birthdate (31May1799) from the Stalker family Bible, her
marriage in 1818 in Washington Co., IN, to George Stocker/STALKER under the
name of Polly, Name of Mary is from census, and names of her 13 children
(Miles, Sarah, Elizabeth, Charity, Jonathan, Rachel, Jacob who died young,
Eli, Nathan, John, George, William, & Nancy. Since all the other names were
found in George's family(he had 10 sibs), I figured that trhe names Miles &
Charity came from Mary's family. Maybe her background was Quaker as
George's was. I found a Miles Turner marrying a Charity Mangum in 1795 in
Greensville Co., NC, but couldn't find where they had gone after that to
connect them to Mary/Polly turning up in Washington Co., IN, in 1818.
Perhaps in central TN, perhaps in southern IL. JUST NOTICED......from the
AIS...a Cecilda Turner in Parke Co., IN, in Liberty Twp............Anybody
know anything about her ?? I have to follow up on that clue ! Thanks all !
