I am researching the family of Robert TURNER and Mary Thornbourgh and their descendants and family stories. My greatest "brick wall" is James R. TURNER who was born in 1836-7 to Walter TURNER and Mary LUCAS in Logan Co., IL.
James R. TURNER is in the 1860 census and by 1870 his wife and children are living with James' parents, Walter and Mary in Macon Co., IL. I cannot find where he died, or is buried or where he enlisted in the military, if he did.
Are there any other descendants out on the web, having the same problem or do you know what happened to James R. TURNER. I could sure use some help with this one and will appreciate any and all assistance. The National Archives has too many James R. TURNER's to look it up and I am not certain where to go from here. James R. Turner was my Great-grandfather.
