Most researchers in the past have connected the Henry Turner in Wilkes Co 1790-184? to William Henry son of John son of Meshack Turner. DNA evidence seems to indicate otherwise.

>From Henry to present is very solid. Thomas Turner had DNA run--apparently no match to the Shadrack-Meshack brother's descendents. It would help if a descendant of Meshack were to send in a sample since mostly his brother Shadrack's descendants have been tested--as far as I currently know. He does, however, match descendents of Absalom Turner's in Emanuel Co., GA .

What I would like to see is a male Turner descendant of the Thomas Martin Turner from Elbert county tested to find where that line fits with the other DNA contributors. It may be that someone in that line has been tested and matches the MD Turners. If so would you email me about the match so I can eliminate that option in searching for the ancestors of Henry.

Anyone who was a descendant of this Henry, I have the book by Lucille Maddox listing his children and certain descendants from bible and notebook records taken west by the family members. Will be glad to answer questions if I can.

Janice
