I am looking for the Civil War records of James L. Turner. He served in the A 4 Arkansas Calvary from September 20, 1863 until his death on December 5, 1864. His wife, Martelia, filed for his pension on April 1, 1865 but I don't know in which state she filed. I believe it to be Tennessee. James and Martelia were born in Bledsoe County, Tennessee (James abt. 1830 and Martelia abt.1829) and lived there until the late 1850's and I believe she returned to Tennessee when James died. Her children were there when the 1870 census was taken but I can't find her. If anyone lives close to the Tennessee Archives or visits them, I would be willing to pay a reasonable amount to have his whole file copied and sent over the internet or by snail mail. If anyone can help, please let me know. If his file and her pension filing are there, let me know and I will send you my address, unless you want to send them over the internet. Thanks for taking the time to read this. Donna
