This should go to the list. Is there anyone in Hill Co.
that can check this out?

Prairie Dale WAS two miles southwest of Mayfield in north
central Hill
Co.It was probably settled in mid 1800's. By the 1930's no
trace of
Prairie Dale, except for Prairie Dale Cemetary, was shown on
the map.
>From Itaska take highway 171 to farmroad 4209. It is now on
a farm and
you walk through a field and in the corner of the field you
see a
beautiful fenced cemetary close to a pond. It looks like it
has not had
any care because it is covered with very tall green folage
and some of
the stones are tossed about. My husbands grandfather loaded
a stone onto
a wagon and carried it 10 miles to the graveyard. We were
able to get a
picture of it but it was very difficult. There are many
snakes. Cleo
Young Davis gave us the info. about this place and knows
more than I
do.She lives in Hillsboro. I don't know if there is a person
in charge
or not. It is quite beautiful and peaceful. Barbara Cope
