Subject: THE PRIVATE CEMETERY!

Hi! I just noticed this and I know Hite as he is working on one of the old
private cemetery (my 3rd great-grandfather may be buried there), here in
Travis Co., Tx. But, did you know that there is a small private cemetery
with one large thin headstone (now about to lie back), inside of the iron
fence? It is between 500 and 600 feet behind the Saengerhalle, on Saur
Street, between New Braunfels and Clear Springs. The headstone has three
names on it, a husband, wife and their young daughter, but there could be
few babies buried there also. The husband's name was Carl Ludwig Jauer
1812 - 1901, wife was Anna (Alemeier) Jauer 1824 - 1868 and their daughter,
Karoline 1862 - 1873. Carl and Anna were my 2nd great-grandparents. And, on
front of the headstone is the grave marker of CITIZEN OF THE REPUBLIC OF
TEXAS 1836 - 1846. I was a hostess when we had family reunion and special
dedication for our ancestor, Carl Ludwig Jauer in May of 1985. That
cemetery
was cleaned up before the special day by Marvin Westmeyer and the late
Gilbert Becker. Then, about the first week of this month (Dec.), my cousin,
from Arizona and I went to see it, and almost couldn't find it as things
has
changed so much. And, it was very sad the way the cemetery looks now,
covered so thick with bushes inside and outside of the iron fence. Is there
some way that somebody could clean up that place? Thank you and take care.
