<smiles> Bill,

They do have a mail list and I'm the admin. Its true I haven't
advertised in awhile. However, we have a turn around of around 10 to
20 subscriptions and unsubscribes every day.

Send a subscribe request to with only
the word "subscribe" in the subject line and in the body.

Beth Bond lives in Richmond near the Virginia Library and has a web
site of her own. She's a wonderfully helpful person. There are
several on the list who would be glad to help. I know of at least
800. So come join the list and post your needs.

Well, Donna, I could probably keep those folks on the VAROOTS-L and
the
Library of Virginia occupied. Why do they not advertise or publish
their
mailing list and web-site on the internet? They, like you and all
other
mailing lists should put forth the effort. Most of us cannot go to
Virginia
to do research, especially the Library of Virginia. They have some
information on their web-site but it is so selective you would have
had to
come over on the Mayflower or landed at Jamestown to be worthy of
mention.
Just something for them to think about. How would they feel if their
ancestors came to Texas or elsewhere and there was no mailing list for
them
to post messages on. Thank you for revealing that information though.
