Are you saying that they did not move the graves but put sand on top and are
playing ball on top of graves! This is terrible.

Sharon,
I can show you all where this cemetery is. In Dr. Hooks' book he says that
Old
Hardin was for the whites and "Hanging Tree" was for the blacks and they
were
dedicated around the same time. There are only two readable stones left and
one
appears to be a veteran of WWI. I go out occasionally and put a new flag on
that grave and flowers on the other graves I can find. Mr. Wright has been
ill
but he has promised us that he will go out and show us what he found when he
is
feeling better. He "found" this cemetery before they started bulldozing for
the
baseball fields. I believe that they have bulldozed three fourths of this
cemetery and put sand on top of it which makes it almost impossable to see
where
the graves were. Connie, I would love to go out with you one day and "poke
around" in this cemetery. A friend of mine, who wishes to remain nameless
went
out and nailed signs to the trees that say "CEMETERY" in foot high letters
so no
one can say that they didn't know it was there.. --JLR
