Hi, lists; i recieved an email from the family of jack lightfoot that he and his wife were killed in an auto accident a few days ago. Jack submitted several articles when i managed the irion county site and loved researching among other projects in his life. i thought i would pass on the obituraries for him and his wife in case others were email and research friends of jack.

JACK LANIER LIGHTFOOT

Jack Lanier Lightfoot, 69, of San Angelo, Texas, died at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 5, 2002, in an automobile accident.

Mr. Lightfoot was born July 23, 1932, in Pecos, Texas. He was a retired United States Naval veteran serving during the Korean War and Vietnam Conflict. He was a foster care provider for MHMR and was a member of Harris Avenue Baptist Church. He married Jo Aten on Nov. 12, 1951, in Uvalde, Texas. He graduated from Angelo State University with honors, receiving a master's degree in business administration.

Funeral service will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday, May 8, in Johnson's Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. J. Earl Dunn officiating. Burial will follow in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.

Survivors include one son, Jack Aten Lightfoot of Austin; one daughter, Jo Elizabeth Lightfoot Ross and husband, Don, of Borger, Texas; three brothers, Charles C. Lightfoot of Willis, Texas, Nimitz Lightfoot of Virginia and Donald Joe Lightfoot of Fredericksburg, Texas; one sister, Ellie B. Talley of Camp Wood; numerous nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Linda Click of San Angelo. Johnson's Funeral Home



JO EDITH ATEN LIGHTFOOT

Jo Edith Aten Lightfoot, 68, of San Angelo, Texas, died at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 5, 2002, in an automobile accident.

Mrs. Lightfoot was born Nov. 9, 1933, in Uvalde, Texas. She was a retired art teacher at the State School. She was a foster care provider for MHMR and was a member of Harris Avenue Baptist Church. She married Jack Lightfoot on Nov. 12, 1951, in Uvalde, Texas.
