There are 3 cemeteries in that area. Kendleton Cemetery, Oak-Hill
Cemetery and Newman Chapel. I believe that 2 of these are in a new Allen
Bates Park developed there. There was a church at Oak-Hill at one time.
When I was there about 15 years ago there were some wooden markers with no
names on them right in the edge of the woods.

That's the one my friend spotted while looking for a geocache and said was
"in thick woods". Since he and I have done a bit of wandering about the
area looking for geocaches in parks, forests, bayous, etc., I trust that he
woluld not use those words in place of "overgrown with weeds". Also, the
directions you give don't seem to jibe with the coordinates he gives for the
stones - another indicator that they may have been moved. Now I could be
totally misreading the clues here but I think it's worth somebody who lives
out that way taking a peek. If I don't hear anything, I may just take a
ride out there this weekend - it will give me an excuse to visit cemeteries
in that part of the county.

right in between the two but I don't think my friend would describe it as
thick woods. I would describe it as heavy brush and small trees Anyway, it
is certainly a mess. Is there a transcription of the stones in there? Do
we know if it was associated with a church that might still be extant? Has
anyone looked into getting the government to take responsibility for it?
