The original Jeff Davis Hospital built on confederate and other graves
has not been torn down. The brick building is slated to be turned into
apartments. It is located on Elder Street, formerly 10th Street, near
the junction with Dart Street. The second Jeff Davis Hospital, located
on (or near) Allen Parkway and formerly visible from Memorial Drive, has
been torn down within the last 8 years.
