I am looking for info on BRANDON family buried in or around Itasca Hill Co
TX. I believe there is a Hugh and a Charles and their spouses and children,
and perhaps their married sisters Josephine and maybe Margaret. The family
was orig from Missouri & Tenn and I believe their parents John Brandon b
1803 or 1804 & Elizabeth Henson (b 1808-1811 in Roane Co Tenn) are also
buried somewhere in Texas. Records indicate John Sr. may have died 1870-
1874 in TX.
I cant find 'em anywhere yet!

The family info goes like this.
Children of John and Elizabeth Brandon:

Charles L BRANDON b: 1834 in TN Lived and died in Texas.
Margaret BRANDON b: 1836 in AL
Walter BRANDON b: 1838 in AL
Ann BRANDON b: 1840 in AL
Sarah BRANDON b: 1843 in TX
Benton BRANDON b: 1845 in MO We believe he lived most of his life
and died in Missouri.
Mary BRANDON b: 1847 in MO
John A BRANDON b: 1850 in MO John married Emma Calhoun Robinson in
1874 and had two sons and a daughter in Tehuacana, Texas.
Hugh F BRANDON b: 1852 in MO Lived and died in Texas.

John and his brothers may have come to Texas through Arkansas, first at
Cranfill's Gap, then Turnersville, then originally settled in Coryelle
County. John's land in Coryelle County was given to Walter John Robinson
when they moved to Tehuacana in about 1878 or so. Walter Robinson was John's
wife Emma's younger brother.
I am also looking for any info on Walter Robinson's family and where they
are buried.

I need to find out as much as I can about Brandons- these families have been
my "brick wall" stopping oint for a few years now. I dont know much about
the Brandons except for my gggrandfather John Adam Brandon, who I believe is
buried in Wortham near our former Smith family home.

I would like to know if there is anyone who is familiar with cemetries in
Hill County or could do lookups in the area. The Brandon family was
Presbyterian and Hugh Brandon was active in the orphanage/Presbyterian home
for children in Itasca.

John & Emma's daughter Mary Frances (aka Minnie) Brandon b1888 in Tehuacana
married Wade Hampton Smith and they settled in Wortham and raised three
generations there. The family cemetery plots are located in a cemetery just
off the highway to Corsicana a few acres over from their former home.I do
not know the name of that cemetery or address, just how to get there. I
haven't been there in YEARS and would like help finding it again.I live out
of state now but visit occasionally /whenever I can.

Any help appreciated!

THANKS SO MUCH-
Diane
