Where would I find out if there are existing records from a company that
transported a person for burial from Houston to Rock Island, Texas in
1906? The company was called C. J. Wright Co. Am not sure if it was in
Houston or Rock Island. Burial records for Columbus Texas do not list
the name of the person in any of the cemeteries of Colorado County, so I
am hoping to find out the name of the cemetery and final resting place
from the records of the C. J. Wright Company which was designated on
death certificate and in newspaper obituary as transporting the body.
Thanks for any help. I know I could go to the Texas Room of the downtown
Houston library and look in the old City Directories for the C. J. Wright
Company. But, then, how would I find any existing archives for the
company if I found out that it was a Houston company?
