>How do you get people to care?<
You don't. For the most part, somehow a generation or two slips by, a
cemetery is forgotten, people move, the ones who remember get old or busy.
The few of us interested in our family history discover the forgotten
cemeteries by accident, scream a little, get them cleaned up, then hope they
stay cleaned up by some miracle.

As far as I know it didn't make a difference in my community. I'm totally
unaware of that, sorry, so I guess I'm a good example of ignorance among the
taphophiles. I don't read my local newspaper, I've boycotted it for years,
ever since Prince Charles came to visit and instead of Welcome Prince
Charles as the headline at every newspaper machine they slammed front page
photos of his sister's scandalous affair. Jerks. I showed them.
These opinions are personal and probably not necessarily anybody else's.
