Hi another Sarah with an H ;-)
I can't find 6 abandoned cemeteries there, and I drove down every street. There is one that needs cutting, the Polish cemetery, and another in a rock wall but the grass is cut. I wrote the reporter who did the story but he won't answer.
Hopefully someone who reads the story will be in one of the groups you have mentioned and will take action. I'm not trying to shirk any work, but I have found out that the best way I can help is to put the problem out on the internet (or Channel 5 if they have a slot) and let them offer, like the church group did for the State Hospital.
It would be nice if we had an internet Friends of Texas Cemeteries state-wide that had a list of interested organizations. NOOO somebody else can start it, not me!!!!!!!
Sarah

Maybe there is a church youth group, one of the Masonic Lodges, an Eastern Star Chapters or some other charitable organizations that would be willing to donate labor and/or help raise funds to tend to these 6 "abandoned" cemeteries?
