Lynna, Sorry to stir up such a commotion over the selling of abandoned
lots! I was just looking for information and apparently no one has ever
done this even though it's legal per Texas Cemetery Laws. But I guess I
learned something
from all this. Even if we never find a soul connected to any of these
abandoned lots there is going to be someone in our
on organization that will feel as those who have emailed me back. We are
not in anyway a group of insensitive caretakers.

My point is that you can not make a blanket statement without doing the
research to determine if it is true. Did you just make up this statement or
do
you know some cemetery that has made this type of contract. If it is the
later then give me the name of the cemetery and I will check it out.
<in and then has the bad luck to live a long life, they could wind up in a
garbage bag alongside the road because the contract says "Void if not used
by
2010" ?>>
This all started about a specific cemetery. Maybe the person who started
this topic can refresh us about the specific cemetery and they or someone
else
(I'll do it) can give them a call to see what the contract said. I wouldn't
think for a moment that someone would even sign a contract that did not
extend for the length of their life.
