My computer died since I researched dowsing, and I lost my bookmarks, but I
found lots of information on the web. I searched for "grave dowsing" and
found lots of information. From my experience, you have to practice. I can
find a grave, but can't tell if it's male or female or much of anything
else. I haven't practiced very much. Some people can tell if the grave is
male or female and the perimeters of the body. It's really interesting.
I bought a couple of welding rods at home depot for about $4.00 and started
playing. (Someone I know uses coat hangers.) I went first to a cemetery
close to me and was surprised that the headstones seem so out of sync with
the bodies (off to one side). Then I went to our family cemetery and found
tons (maybe 20 or so) of unmarked graves.
One of the sites I visited suggested that you go to a marked cemetery with
an "assistant" and have them hide the gravestones from you with a large
piece of cardboard or something. Then you "read" the site and interpret your
results and compare it to the headstone. That's how you develop your skills
at "reading" the graves.
The whole idea is to have the "L" shaped rods in your hands in a way that
you can't control their movement. You hold the "L" low enough on the leg
that you can't make it turn. Just do an internet search on it and you'll get
plenty of information.

Subject: [TX-CEMETERY-PRESERVATION] dowsing
My sisters and I are planning to make a plat map of a small, central Texas
cemetery in a couple of months. We learned grave dowsing recently and want
to dowse for the 'lost' graves. We expect to find 100-200. We want to
include these unknown graves on the plat map in order to avoid accidentally
digging in to a lost grave of one of our community pioneers.
Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.
