I find the male makes the rods turn in toward each other and the female both
of them turn out. One can step sideways and find the length of the body.
Practice in the cemetery where there are stones to indicate male and female.
You will soon know without checking the stone whether male or female. One
can also determine animal burials by following the body then detecting the
legs going away from the body. I find the rods work even when burials are
in a vault and also cremations
