Cindy,

There is so much new material, both hard copy (and on-line) available
through the GLHTA, we need to organize some little seminars to help
researchers make use of all that's available.

Remember when we had every title memorized and could walk right to
the shelf it was on. And even if we didn't remember the title, we
knew the color of the book, and the shelf it was on, that gave the
surname of Uncle Fred's third wife's mother.

No more! I think Gwen is the only person that knows all the titles
by heart.

AND!! Did I forget to mention? A few of us were at the Plano City
Council meeting last week. Mayor Pat Evans had kind words to say
about our recent donations and the council approved and accepted our
gifts. The Library is now in the process of developing the signage
and the genealogy room will be named the Jeanette Bickley Bland room.

For listers who are not local, Jeanette Bland was a long-time member
of CCGS, born and raised in Farmersville, an avid and excellent
researcher, author, lecturer and a kind, generous person who lost her
fight with cancer in 2004. It is truly an honor to be able to name
that room after her and know that her legacy will live on.
