It is always hard for me to realize how fast information moves on the
"Internet Superhighway." Since the message I sent yesterday, Johnnye has
called me 2 times with questions, that she has heard from other people. Now
the answer to this problem, is that Johnnye has to jump on board and get on
Internet so she can keep up.

A couple of things:

At the June meeting we voted to change the category of dues as follows:

These categories did not change.

Individual Membership $ 7.00
Family Membership 10.00

We add the following:

Contributing Membership 15.00
Patron Membership 20.00

We added these categories, just in case you had a little addition cash laying
around and you may want to help GCGS get some things accomplished that we
will try to do this year.

At this point, for the additional dues, you will only get one of these
categories behind your name in the Directory, that will be issued hopefully
by July meeting, if not, for sure August meeting. It is just an option you
have to help the group. The Life Time Members have already done there share,
so they can help us do other things. You only need to pay your regular dues,
the other categories are your decision.

If there are any questions, please call me or Johnnye.

Another thing, in a recent Delegate packet I received from FGS, they are
announcing a program on PBS "Ancestors Series." There has been a prior
series on PBS, and they are going to do it again. There are several
different topics, so we probably would not get the same one this year.

The problem is, I have not seen anything in the paper, and I do not have a
Houston phone directory to get the number of Channel 8. Could someone in
the Houston area get us some information on this. Jesse, if you could find
the number, or call PBS and let the Mail List know the schedule it would sure
help.

The only other thing I can suggest is that you look in the paper each day
until we can find the schedule, or get some concrete information.

To send messages on this board, go to Write mail (or how ever you send mail
on your net work), send to:

When you send your message all the members on the list will receive it, thus
keeping us all in contact. Again, thanks to Jim for opening this up to us.

Also, I did want to let you know, Doug McBee has made some Membership Cards
for us, we haven't had membership cards for some time. Johnnye will give you
one, or send you one when you pay your dues. Thanks to Doug for helping out
on this.

It's going to be a good year.
