My GG Grandfather,Jacob Prewitt/Pruett came to Texas from Illinois in 1822. When he received title to his land around 1834 papers stated that he was from Burnet. An old map shows it to be about where Anderson county is now.Does anyone have any info on this city/area called Burnet at that time. Burnet county(near Travis county) did not exist until after 1850. Any help or directions to search will be greatly appreciated.
