I am looking for any descendants of Friedrich Wendt who immigrated from
Ruhlow, Mecklenburg-Strelitz Germany and settled in Austin County. He arrived
in Galveston, Texas Oct. 25, 1852 with his wife and 4 children aboard the
Barq Sophia. Two of the children were Maria Wendt (who married Fredrich
Frank) and Fritz Wendt Sr. (who married Maria Mickels)both of these marriages
were in Austin county. Friedrich Wendt was pretty old when he immigrated
(he was 72 years old in the 1860 census for Austin county.
