Okay....here is what I have since learned of the Bethanys since posting that message. James Waller Bethany (not Walker) was the son of William and Mary Bethany. William was the son of Thomas Bethany. Thomas was the son of William Bethany. William was the son of Jacob Bethany. I have an entry from a bill of sale from Austin County, that establishes the relationship between Thomas and James. It states that Thomas's grandson James, who has always lived with him, will conduct his (Thomas's) business, as he has always done. Both Thomas and James are buried in the Bethany Cemetery near Nelsonville, Austin County, Texas.

It is my understanding that Mary Adeline Woods Bethany is buried at Oak Knoll Cemetery in Bellville, TX. Her father, Andrew Woods is buried at Bethlehem Cemetery in Brenham.

I, too, have communicated with Bob Parrott in the past. I look forward to his book on the Woods.
