James "Jack" J Hand born July 1880 in Texas was son of John B and Nancy Hand, 1900 Bandera county.

Louisa Cooley appears to have been a HAND making her sister of Jack Hand. Maggie would have been niece of Louisa and Jack not sister in law as indicated on the 1910 record is how I see it. Have you obtained her death certificate to see if her father's name is on it ?

One of the six older brothers of Jack and Louisa would be father of Margaret and I do not think it was Jack as he would have been appx 16 when she was born. Where was she in 1900 ? Was Samuel Hand perhaps her father and she was simply not counted in 1900 with the Hands' and not counted with her mother and Lee Reavis. Based on the 1900 and 1910 records Melvina does not acknowledge this daughter.

>From what I can make out in the 1910 census indicates this was 1st marriage for Melvina and Lee who had Alvin R, Leeroy and Sherman after the above 3 children by 1910. Melvina said she was mother of 6 children. Sam Hand was in Mason county in 1910 with a family listed as Sam Vand.
