No I'm not 70. Guess I should put my bio up since I've been uncovered or is
it discovered. I'm 44 with 3 children, 26, 25 and 19. I work for the Fed
Gov't (15 years tomorrow!) and attend the community college 2 nights a week
to get a Database Administrators certificate. I'm married (to someone from
out of the county to make sure I wasn't related). He's retired Army. Dad's
retired Navy and my 25 year old daughter is in the Air Force stationed in
Japan. I was born in California, lived around the world, and came to what I
knew as "home" in Bastrop Co 10 years ago when my husband retired. Between
mom and dad, I'm related to about everyone in Bastrop Co (or at least those
that were here 20 years ago, before everyone decided they wanted to live here
too) and half of Travis Co and Caldwell Co's. Mom says there is 2 kinds of
people, those born in Texas and those that wish they had been. I like to
stay in the background, helping as I can. I enjoy interacting with other
researchers and like the challenge of finding "lost" family members.
Hopefully I will have more time to get courthouse information after I finish
my last class this early summer.
Lisa, I fixed the picture a little and there is now a link to it from the
main page, under my email link. We'll get a better one next time. I'm on
the left and Lisa is on the right.
Lisa got a lot of information, like pictures of the early cattle brands that
I will be posting soon. Plus the wonderful pictures that are hanging on the
courthouse walls of early Bastrop life.
Ed Walker, a gentleman was in there doing research. We asked him if he was Ed
Walker and he said no, he was Jack Walker researching the Walker and Freeman
families. He was surprised we guessed the Walker name.
Curtis Craig, If you are on the list, please email me. I switched computers
and it didn't carry over my old email. I can't find the link to your new
family website.
