I am trying to fill out the family line of Hugh Barton (1775-1853) and his
wife Mary Shirley Barton (1780-1852) . My wife is a direct descendant of
Mary Shirley's brother Samuel Shirley.

I have records of their son Hugh Barton, Jr. (1870 - 1899) marrying a Jane
Harris and moving to Bastrop Texas. He later married a lady with first name
Jenny. Their sons John and Hugh (III) were born in Bastrop. John had a son
named John who I found on the 1930 census at age 57 in Bastrop. He was
listed as a widower having children living with him as: John, 28, Ruth 24,
and Butch (or Busch) 22.

Would like to know if any Barton descendants are still in that area.

Any help would be appreciated.
