I have a 3" x 5" card from the Texas State Archives showing my ancestor
Seaborn Jones WHATLEY as a Private in the First Texas Rangers (Bastrop Rangers)
with Commanding Officer, Captain N. Merrill, enlisted June 10 and discharged Sept
10, 1839. Ranger Muster Roll.

He is not listed on the Texas Ranger site you wrote about. Can anyone tell me how
to learn more about the First Texas Rangers (Bastrop Rangers)?

I'd like to know more about the group. Thank you.

Jeannine
