Howdy, Listers!

In talking with members of the West Bell Genealogical Society, and the
Bell County Historical Commission, it seemed like a good idea to *gell*
my suggestion about a concerted effort to send material to the TexGenWeb
Archives, and to put information in the WBGS and BCHC web page archives.
Projects begun this year, and earlier, seem to be obliged to have the
term *2000* in them somewhere, so I'm suggesting that the TXBELL listers
participate in a WEB2000 project, along with anyone else I can cajole
into helping. So, when you see references to WEB2000, that's what I'm
talking about. It isn't yet clear how to divvy up some of the cemetery
lists, to start with, but I appreciate the expressions of willingness to
help... so hold those open, please. Concurrently, I'm looking to firm up
the *warm fuzzy* I presently have about putting the Bell County
Historical Commission publications on-line, on the BCHC page, the WBGS
page, and/or in the TexGenWeb Archives. (The BCHC gave an okay, but I
want to check with the editors as a courtesy, first.)

So, WEB2000... we'll see what TXBELL can do with it.. I've mentioned
before that anyone can send genealogy-related material about Bell County
to the TexGenWeb Archives.. and please do so. If you're not sure about
formatting, send your proposed submission to me and I'll see if it's
ready to go. I think once you get the hang of it, it goes pretty well.
TXBELL listers probably already have suitable material, from your own
family history.. things like wills, or pension records, or obituaries,
and so forth. Just be careful not to include material from copyrighted
sources, unless you have permission.
