I am researching George Washington ALLISON, my great-great grandfather.
We have found no
trace of his parents.

He was born in GA in 1848 and appears to have gone West to AR and TX
with the family of
William Flemon COWAN. He married one of Cowan's daughters, Sarah
Arkansas COWAN.

Family stories indicate that GW ALLISON and at least one brother were
orphaned and lived near
Salado with a family named NAPIER. We find this family in the census
with children of other
surnames but no ALLISONs.

The COWANS moved from AR to Williamson COunty TX in 1863 and later to
BELL County. In
1874, the COWANS began moving to Katemcy in Mason County.

GW Allison moved to Kempner and then to Katemcy.

If any researchers have information on these families, I would very much
appreciate receiving it.
