Query: My gr gr grandfather, William M. Peppers, b. 1817, (somewhere in TN)
moved to ARK sometime before 1841, as his dau, Mary Jane Peppers was b. in
1842 in ARK. After ARK, maybe Benton Co., they moved to Bell Co, and were
the first white settlers on Pepper's Creek, that runs through Belton,
actually in someplaces it runs parallel to 1H35 on the west side going
south., Eveline Kincheloe, b. 1822, Blount Co. AL. was William's bride and
the mother of Mary Jane.
This bit of history is found in the "History of Bell Co. TX " by Taylor. They
are listed in the 1850 Census of Bell Co. TX. Mary Jane Peppers married
Henry Jefferson Dawson, (they were m. in Uvalde, TX. 1n1857.
I will gladly share info with anyone. I do so need the names of the parents
of William M. Peppers, and where he was born.and of course anything else
would be an added bonus.
