Charlene,
I feel certain the Historical Society is aware of the Bates cemetery.
But the other one where Prince is buried is by the edge of the road next to
an old house or mobile home. The young man who took us there was from the
church. He thought some of these people might be part of our McDowell
family. i am still trying to make the connection. I have Bigham's but no
Bates in my family. The other cemetery is in the Nolan Valley Estates (I
think that is the name of it) and is very well tended by the family who
owns the surrounding property. They were very gracious to give us a tour
but I forgot their name. Sorry. I am going back down there this week and
will try to get more information. One of the ladies at our reunion was a
member of the historical society and provided much of the history of the
McDowell/Estes/Cowan families.
Jody
