Subject: [TXBELL] Marriage & Cemetery Lookup assistance
Date: Tue, 17 Oct 2000 16:58:33 EDT

Hello Bell Co.,

For some time I have been looking for the 2nd marriage of my g,g,g,g
grandmother. I think that I have finally located her in Bell Co. in the 1880
census.

Here is what I need assistance with. On the 1880 census she is listed as Jane
Simms, widow, 74 years old, and living with D. Riddle and his wife Rachell
Riddle, Rachel (Clark) Riddle was Jane's daughter. Jane was first married to
Isom Clark in Severe Co., Tenn. abt. 1817 and came to Texas in 1845-46, first
arriving in the Peters Colony in Collin Co. and then to Van Zandt Co. by the
1850 census. I have not been able to find Isom and Jane on any census after
1850 and assume that Isom died before 1860 and Jane remarried someone named
Simms. Several of her children were married in the early 1860's in
Williamson Co., but her marriage to Mr. (?) Simms is not recorded in
Williamson Co.

Does anyone know if Jane was married to Mr. (?) Simms in Bell Co? Also, is
she listed in any of the cemetery books of the county.

Also is there a listing for the marriage of Mary M. Clark and J.R. Sexton
listed in Bell Co? They would have been married about 1858 or 1859.

I would appreciate any assistance that anyone could provide.
