I am not sure if this is the same family, I have a William Elliott born abt 1815 South Carolina with wife Mary born abt 1825 in Georgia, son Thomas born abt 1847 in Georgia possibly Polk Co, Thomas married Nancy born abt 1847 in Georgia and had first five children there, they then moved to Independce, Washingto Co, Texas, with Thomas' father and mother, they were farmers, Thomas' son Scott was born in Independce in 1884, I am assuming sometime after that they moved to Bell Co, Texas, the area is Summers Mill, Salado,
Son Scott married Agnes L Smith, dau of William B Smith and Mary Jane Wilson
The Smith Family moved there approx 1881-1882 from Randolph Co, Alabama with three of the Smith Children marrying three of the Elliott children
I also have a James A McLeod married to Alberta Mow from Bell or Coleman Co.
